Noone Knows the Topic of Short Sales, Foreclosures and Foreclosure Consulting Better Than Bruce! |
A peek at the local news will tell of the ever increasing rate of foreclosure here in the United States: - The number of Maryland borrowers who face foreclosure or have missed mortgage payments topped 100,000 for the first time at the end of last year (The Baltimore Sun) - The Obama administration recently sketched in the details of its most ambitious attempt to reduce foreclosures and stabilize the beleagured housing market at the root of the economic meltdown (The Washington Post) - A recent Senate Bill was introduced to give tenants 30 days to move out of a home after its foreclosure sale. Another bill was introduced to extend the time between foreclosure and eviction from 14 days to 365 days to encourage lenders to negotiate with owners who are falling behind on loan payments (The Baltimore Sun)
Those of us who have been investing for awhile know that there are profits to be made in foreclosures in the DC Metropolitan area as well as other states. However, legislation passed in Maryland over the last few years (including the recent Maryland Protection of Homeowners in Foreclosure Act) has caused many of us to steer clear of foreclosures under the threat of heavy fines and/or imprisonment. |
